Nintendo Oddly Cancels Two Of My Favourite Eshop Features, Replaces Them With Nothing

Nintendo has suddenly announced the cancellation of two of my favourite Nintendo Switch eshop features. They plan to axe Nintendo Gold Points in March, which is a really odd decision, because a lot of people like myself found them beneficial to get a good deal on certain games. The next thing they announced was that the beloved Nintendo Switch Online Game Vouchers will not work for the Nintendo Switch 2. This is a real kick in the pants as I found the Switch Online Vouchers a hidden gem of the overall lacking Nintendo Switch Online service. Why won't the vouchers work for Switch 2 games? Will Nintendo have any alternate plans for its users to get good deals?

Nintendo posted a website link which said "Click here for more information" but not even they could provide any appropriate excuse for the abysmal decision. If you click the link it shows up with nothing and gives an error, redirecting you to other support articles.

This isn't the best way to start advertising for the Switch 2 with half of the best Switch eShop features being cancelled or not compatible with Switch 2. Why does everything have to be so complicated. This is why we can't have nice things.

If there is no replacement for the Switch Online Game Vouchers and Nintendo Gold Points, for Switch 2 I may as well just go ahead and cancel my Switch Online Subscription.

Nintendo have not properly announced what will replace these features or why they are doing this. I guess we'll find out more on the Switch 2 direct which will be revealed on April 2. WAH.
