It Took 2 Years For Nintendo To Add Banjo Tooie To Switch Online, But OK

When I heard the news that Banjo Tooie - one of my favourite games from my childhood, is coming to N64 Switch Online I thought i'd dust off my Switch N64 Controller and start playing the Switch Online games again to prepare for my excitement. I had barely touched the Switch Online Expansion Packs at all during last year and this year. Nintendo release games to the service like a trickle of water. Sometimes, only one game comes out on the N64 version of the app. It's very annoying and highly elitist.

Banjo Kazooie first popped up on Nintendo Switch Online N64 Expansion Pack 2 years ago. Youtube user GamePrime has compiled a pretty neat comparison video, of what Banjo Tooie is like from Switch to other ported versions on Xbox , and the original N64. Check it out below.

Although I still prefer playing the original N64 version, I have played the Xbox versions from Rare Replay. I find the Xbox ports a bit tricky because it uses the double joystick controls (1 joystick for movement and another for controlling the camera), it does get very annoying. Apparently there are a few bugs on the Switch version as well according to GamesRadar. Emulating N64 games on Switch seems to be a tricky experience for Nintendo. Even on the Wii U, the N64 games had to run on 50hz and were really dark in comparison to the originals. But it overall seems to run fine.

Banjo Tooie was one of those games that I loved mastering back in the day. I was pretty good at Banjo Kazooie as well. I'd still like to try it out on Switch.

While it's a good piece of news for the N64 Online Expansion pack, the N64 collection on Switch is still lacking other in-demand titles, such as Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong 64, Conker's Bad Fur Day, & others. However, it's really cool to finally see the N64 logo back on Banjo Tooie.
