The Pirate Metal / Rock meme duo, Pirate Party The Band, fronted by James T Kaiser on Vocals and Cameron Hons on Vocals and All Instruments, returns in September 2024, for a brand new album called "Pirate Pandemonium". Their 18th album, which may or may not have taken influence by a similarly named & failed Australian music festival that occurred earlier in the year, is already near complete, with the finished touches expected to be done very soon.
"We're very excited about this new album." says Cameron Hons, the main instrumentalist and additional vocalist of the band. "It does take a bit longer for us to do albums now, which often come about once every couple of months, but I think it's great as they certainly feel like it's worth the wait." The last album, Useless Island was released back in January 2024 with much acclaim from fans and listeners.
Pirate Party The Band were first formed in June 2019, after being inspired by the Rare video game Sea of Thieves, their songs were originally based on comical events that happened during their live streams or situations in the game. The cult underground metal / rock band, with songs like "Save The Weed", "Mast Down & Woodless", "Bonestorm", "Sink & Destroy", "Pirates On The Run", "Piratebusters", and more.Their infamous Pirate Party streams still happen occasionally, when they are not so busy with other outside projects.
"We still enjoy playing Sea Of Thieves." says Cameron. 'We get a lot of ideas for the songs on the game. Or when we come up with some retarded Pirate related memes or whatever."
The upcoming album is called Pirate Pandemonium, "Actually we wanted to make an album called Pirate Pandemonium for a while." says Cameron, but thought that late-2024 was a good time to finally record it.
"There are loads of great new songs on here. There's probably one of the heaviest songs i've ever recorded, called "Cockroaches Of The Sea", it's about cyclists. I encounter a lot of ungrateful cyclists while i'm out walking all the time, or if they're cycling on the road and being a jerk to the surrounding traffic, they even piss me off when they're riding on the footpath. They never use their bell and sometimes they catch you by surprise and almost crash into you if you're not careful.."
Other songs include the heavy hitting almost anthemic opening track, "Pirate Pandemonium". Featuring epic riffs and crazy guitar solos from Cameron, who returns and does all the instruments to all the songs once again. "I don't want to take credit for everything because James T Kaiser is the main vocalist and I couldn't do most of these songs without him as well." Cameron laughs. "He also contributed to plenty of ideas to the record. There are also not one but two brand new Dick Cunt songs, Horse Funeral and Since Spacies Can't Stop The Pirate Party.
"All these songs are quite unique and have a lot of different styles on them. There's one song on there that sounds like it should be a Midnight Helicopters track. It's a great mixture." says Cameron.
"PIRATE PANDEMONIUM" is expected to be released sometime in the first half of September 2024.
