Attention all Steam users, the vanilla Sims 4 is now free to play! Which means it will now only cost $641.42 to get the full experience of this title.
This news is not a troll, the Sims 4 has become free. However, this serves as a great example of where the video game market is going. While the base game is free now, there are enough expansion packs, bundles, kits, and stuff packs to cost a new triple A release title 10 times over.
That is the sale price.
Sims games have always had expansion packs, but not to this level. But, more importantly, this is a great example of the Free-To-Play market that is slowly taking over the gaming industry. It makes sense from a business perspective, lock some non-essential content behind a paywall. That, as well as pay to win, but that is another story.
Still, there is a lot of fun to be had with the base game so, this is good news for anyone who did not own this title. Stay tuned for a review of it.
Wow, this is really telling of the game industry. Thank you Cendoo for bringing this to our attention
