Fusion-Fall Retro is a fan game that is a remake of a classic MMO-RPG that uses classic and modern cartoon network characters. The original game was made in 2009 and ended in 2013. It's fandom, while small, was very dedicated to the game. When the game closed, the community was heart broken, but because of some less than positive reception to recent updates, they understood why the game had to be closed. A small team had made retro to try to replicate the original game to a tee, but has recently added new items to the game from modern cartoons. Another game is in the making called legacy, but it is unknown what the plans are for the game.
-Game play
Do you enjoy walking? If so, you will absolutely adore this game. Traversal wise, you have 5 options, walking, vehicles (speed booster), the slider (a bus), K.N.D. S.C.A.M.P.E.R. (instant transport), and monkey sky agents. Each have upsides in speed, but the faster, the more expensive, (with the exception of the slider, which is free.) Combat is simple and slow, but still engaging. Nano's are chibi versions of classic characters which have abilities that help in combat. They have a letter assigned to them, and so do the enemies. This creates a rock paper scissors dynamic to combat. To get Nano's you have to defeat "fusions" (evil versions of characters), and to fight them, you have to level up.
-Artwork
I love the art style of this game. It is heavily inspired by anime and other Japanese media. There are some issues with this art style, such as Eddy from Ed, Edd, and Eddy. The Nano's are small and chibi versions of characters, and are closer to the original designs. You get to create your own character, there are many items and cosmetics you can use to make your character more individualized.
-Final thoughts
While the game has a few issues, it is still a personal favorite. I recommend the game for families to play together, if you have nostalgia for cartoon network from the 90's to early 2000's, you should play this classic. This game gets a 9/10 from me.
